| OUR HISTORY |
|
Cranesville Block Company Inc. was established in 1947 by John Tesiero Jr. upon his return from European
Theatre of World War II. He had two partners Raymond Francisco and Richard Furman. Cranesville Block
Company's maiden site was located in the hamlet of Cranesville, NY, hence the derived name "Cranesville."
Cranesville, which is found in the Town of Amsterdam, provided the men with a barn and land to carry
out the block operation. The crew used a single block mold to craft concrete blocks. The
entrepreneurial organization came to capitalize on the building boom following the war.

Circa late 1960 the three men moved to a new location situated on Erie St. in Port Jackson, NY.
The site was to be found on the South Side of the city of Amsterdam, NY. At this new location
Cranesville purchased its first concrete ready mixer. About ten years later in the 1970's Cranesville
moved its flourishing business to 774 State Route 5S in Amsterdam, NY where the Adirondack Power & Light
Corporation called home.
At this time John Tesiero Jr. purchased the shares of Raymond Francisco and Richard
Furman to become the sole proprietor of Cranesville Block Company. Today, the site remains the companies
elite concrete block producer as well as a concrete ready mix site.
In the present day, Cranesville Block Company, Inc. remains family owned and operated. We continue
to be under the direction of CEO John Tesiero Jr. Cranesville has grown to amass 24 Ready Mix
concrete facilities, 10 distinct aggregate locations, and 9 concrete block and pre-cast retail centers.
Cranesville has been awarded as a Top 100 Producer of Concrete in North America by
"The Concrete Producer"
magazine for five consecutive years (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007).
